We our proud of one of the graduates who transferred to Oregon Correctional, a minimum security/work release center. He is near the completion of his sentence, having only a few years left. He was very excited about this new location, his job, and his future. He was also excited to tell Pastor Knoll that he got his driver’s license as well since his arrival (he never had one when he became incarcerated).
After his transfer, he worked with a temporary placement agency to get a job at a local company. Given his attitude, demeanor, and work ethic, the company's HR Manager and his supervisor offered him a regular, full-time, employment nearly immediately (that doesn’t surprise any of his teachers given the kind of student he was!). He said that he really enjoys his work, and is planning on staying in the area after his release so he can still work there. We encouraged him to make sure that he lets them know about his degree incase promotion opportunities come up.
